Overview

Majuli has been the cultural capital and the cradle of Assamese civilization for the past 500 years. The satras set up preserve antiques like weapons, utensils, jewellery and other items of cultural significance.

Day 1

  1. Pick up from Guwahati Railway Station and directly transfer from Guwahati to Sivasagar, a distance of approx. 370 km.
  2. After reaching Sivasagar, will do some local sightseeing near to the Hotel.
  3. Overnight stay at Hotel Piccolo or similar in Sivasagar.

Day 2

  1. Early morning after breakfast, will the sightseeings in Sivasagar including Shivdol, Charaideo, Gargaon Palace, Rang Ghar, Karengh Ghar & Talatal Ghar etc.
  2. Overnight stay at Hotel Piccolo or similar in Sivasagar.

Day 3

  1. Early morning after breakfast will transfer to Majuli en- route Jorhat.
  2. After we reach Nimati Ghat, will have to take a Ferry to Majuli. After approximately one and half hours of sailing we will arrive at Majuli Island.
  3. Upon arrival at Majuli, will do some local sightseeing which will be guided by our Tour guide.
  4. Overnight stay at Hotel Enchanting Majuli or similar in Majuli.

Day 4

  1. Early morning after breakfast will visit rest of the important sites of Majuli covering Auniati Satra (this Satra is famous for the “Paalnaam” (Monastery Prayer) and Apsara Dances, Natun Samaguri Satra, Uttar Kamalabari Satra and also witness the Monastery Dance performed by the monks of Uttarkamalabari Satra.
  2. After that will visit Salmara Village to show the Art of Pottery Making (Pottery in Majuli is probably the single most important heritage of all and also visit Dhapak Village of the Mishying Tribes.  
  3. Overnight stay at Hotel Enchanting Majuli or similar in Majuli.
